Different types of coughs

Chesty Coughs
Chesty coughs can also be referred to as a “productive” or mucus cough. A chesty cough may bring up mucus or phlegm and coughing is a mechanism to help clear the airways of congestion.
Robitussin EX provides symptomatic relief for congested chests and coughs due to the common cold.
Robitussin EX contains an expectorant, Guaiphenesin, which helps to loosen phlegm and thins bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive and easier to cough up and remove phlegm from airway.

Dry Cough
A dry cough is 'unproductive', that is not accompanied by mucus or phlegm.
Sometimes, a dry irritating cough may be accompanied with occasional phlegm. The constant coughing can dry the air passage and making the small amount of phlegm hard to move.
Robitussin DM provides symptomatic relief for congested chests and coughs.
Robitussin DM contains a cough suppressant, Dextromethorphan, which helps to reduce the amount of annoying coughs. An expectorant, Guaiphenesin, is also present in Robitussin DM, to help loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretions, which helps to make cough more productive.

Chesty Coughs with Nasal Congestion
Nasal congestion can be a common symptom of cough, cold & flu. It is usually caused by swelling of the nasal passage to inflamed blood vessels.
Robitussin PS provides symptomatic relief for congested chests and coughs and nasal stuffiness due to the common cold.
Robitussin PS contains a decongestant, Pseudoephedrine, which decreases swelling in the nasal passage. This helps to decrease congestion and increase drainage of mucus. An expectorant, Guaiphenesin is also present in Robitussin PS to help loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive and easier to cough up and remove from the airway.
